In a courageous battle that inspired many, Collins chose a treatment plan focused on preserving his quality of life while extending it beyond initial expectations. He successfully completed the early stages of his regimen, but unfortunately, the cancer's rapid return prevented him from finishing the full course. Collins is survived by his husband, Brunson Green; his parents, Portia and Paul Collins; and his brother, Jarron Collins, who most recently served as an assistant coach for the New Orleans Pelicans. His legacy of resilience and love for the game continues to resonate in the basketball community.
