Two Colorado Rockies prospects are making headlines this week, proving that the future of the franchise is shining bright in the minor leagues.
Cole Carrigg, the super-utility player for the Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes, has been named the Pacific Coast League Player of the Week for the period of April 27 through May 3, 2025. The 23-year-old, who ranks as the No. 4 prospect in the Rockies system, simply dominated at the plate. Starting all six games against the El Paso Chihuahuas, Carrigg went an incredible 14-for-24 (.583), racking up two doubles, a triple, a home run, eight RBIs, and four stolen bases.
But the numbers don't stop there. Carrigg led the entire PCL in runs scored (11) and stolen bases (4) during the series, while tying for first in hits (14) and ranking third in total bases (21). His Saturday performance was a highlight: a 4-for-5 outing with four runs scored and five RBIs, tying career highs in all three categories. If that wasn't enough, Carrigg is also riding a 24-game on-base streak (tied for the fourth-longest active streak in Minor League Baseball) and a 13-game hitting streak (tied for the second-longest active).
This isn't Carrigg's first rodeo with weekly honors—he earned "Player of the Week" three times in 2024 while playing for the High-A Spokane Indians. He becomes the first Albuquerque player to receive the award since Keston Hiura in August 2025. With a focus on "honing his professionalism" this season, Carrigg's hard work is clearly translating into standout results.
Joining Carrigg in the spotlight is Spokane Indians left-handed pitcher Everett Catlett. The 23-year-old was named the Northwest League Pitcher of the Week for the same period. Catlett earned the win in his May 1 start after allowing just two hits over six scoreless innings, striking out a career-high 11 batters. So far this season, he holds a 2-2 record with a 3.80 ERA and 32 strikeouts over 23.2 innings pitched across five games.
From blistering bats to dominant arms, the Rockies' pipeline is delivering plenty of reasons for fans to get excited.
