Shedeur Sanders, the presumed starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns in 2026, was hoping for some help with the Brown's first round pick Thursday evening.

While it was not a wide receiver, the Browns did help their potential starting quarterback by selecting Utah offensive tackle Spencer Fano. After trading back to No. 9, the Browns still got the guy they seemed likely to select at No. 6.

Fano won the Outland Trophy last season for the best offensive lineman in college football. Multiple draft boards and analysts had him as the top offensive lineman.

Perhaps his best trait is his versatility. Fano played both tackle positions at Utah and even worked out at center at the combine. He tested extremely well at the combine with the 6-foot-5 and 311-pound offensive tackle running a 4.91 40-yard dash, hitting 32 inches in the vertical jump, and a 9-foot-3 broad jump.

Fano immediately steps into the starting left tackle position and will protect Sanders' blind side if the former Colorado star wins the starting job.
