Clemson softball is heading back to the NCAA Tournament for the sixth consecutive season, and this time, they're packing their bags for Athens. The Tigers have been selected as the No. 6 seed in the Athens Regional, hosted by the No. 3 seeded Georgia Bulldogs, marking another milestone in the program's rapid rise.

Clemson (32-20) will kick off the double-elimination regional on Friday against UNC Greensboro (42-17), with first pitch scheduled for 4:30 p.m. ET on ACC Network. The host Bulldogs (38-18), who earned the No. 10 overall seed in the tournament, will face Charleston (30-28) at 7 p.m. on ESPN+. The winner of the Athens Regional advances to a best-of-three Super Regional against the winner of the Knoxville Regional.

This selection continues an impressive streak for the Tigers, who have made the NCAA Tournament every year they've been eligible since their first appearance in 2021. In just their seventh season as a program, Clemson has already established itself as a postseason regular, having previously competed in the Tuscaloosa Regional twice (2021 and 2024) and hosted as a top-16 seed in 2022, 2023, and 2025.

The Tigers are part of a strong ACC contingent in this year's field, joining eight conference schools: No. 3 Florida State, No. 3 Duke, No. 5 Virginia Tech, No. 5 Stanford, No. 7 Virginia, No. 8 Louisville, and Georgia Tech.
