College Performance: Wade Woodaz is your quintessential throwback LB. Put a neck roll on him and you could drop him in the 1990’s. Woodaz followed in the tradition of some Clemson LBs by being a downhill hard hitting LB that caused quite a few big hits. But he also had the speed and athleticism to succeed in coverage, something the Tigers haven’t always had. WOodaz’s time at Clemson was also marked as a leader on and off the field. He was the defensive captain for the Tigers and multiple reports talk about how he held the team accountable as a leader.

NFL Projections: The same traits that make Woodaz lovable are ones he will have to work on to refine in the NFL. While his aggressive style is great, sometimes he moves too quickly and doesn’t diagnose the play. This leaves gap in the coverage or run fits which can cause a big play. Pairing that aggressive play with better situational awareness will be key to Woodaz’s success on the field. His play style should give him an excellent opportunity on special teams though.
