Milwaukee Brewers star Christian Yelich is teaming up with a hometown favorite for a new brew that's sure to wake up your morning. The two-time All-Star and Colectivo Coffee have joined forces to create the "Yeli Blend," a limited-edition whole-bean coffee that launched in early May.
Yelich, who's been a daily coffee drinker for the past six or seven years, calls himself more of an enthusiast than an expert—but that passion is exactly what sparked this collaboration. "Coffee is part of my daily routine, so getting the chance to collaborate with a hometown brand like Colectivo on my own blend is really exciting," Yelich shared in a statement. His go-to order? An Americano, served hot or iced depending on the weather, according to Colectivo's marketing director Marissa Worzella.
The Yeli Blend promises a smooth, balanced cup with notes of milk chocolate, cherry, hazelnut, and citrus—a flavor profile that mirrors the all-around versatility Yelich brings to the plate. And while this brew is perfect for game-day mornings or pre-workout fuel, there's a bigger play at work here.
For every bag sold, $1 goes directly to Yelich's Home Plate Foundation, which supports causes close to his heart, including the Brewers Community Foundation and the Visit Milwaukee Foundation. The funds also benefit Visit Milwaukee's Emergency Relief Fund for local businesses and provide scholarships for area college students. "Knowing that Christian is a specialty coffee fan and was looking for creative ways to raise money for his charitable organization, we thought this would be a fun way to work together while building excitement around a shared passion for coffee," Worzella explained.
The timing couldn't be better: the Yeli Blend launch comes just ahead of Yelich's fourth annual Home Plate Charity Concert, set for May 21.
