The Kansas City Chiefs selected Clemson defensive tackle Peter Woods with the 29th pick in the 2026 NFL draft.
Woods turned heads among scouts with his athletic ability at defensive tackle. He finished the 2025 season as a First Team All-ACC selection.
He has shown amazing versatility during his college career, including moments as a lead blocker in short-yardage situations. Kansas City will have additional help on the defensive line to complement Pro Bowl defensive lineman Chris Jones, under defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo.
Woods was a Second-team Associated Press All-American in 2025. He started 12 games, finishing with 30 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and 2 sacks. Arguably, his best season was in 2024, when he finished with 28 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, and a forced fumble, earning Honorable Mention All-ACC honors. He played 5 snaps as a fullback in the jumbo package.
