The Chicago Bears won't travel overseas for an international game in 2026.

The Chicago Bears will stay stateside in 2026, as the team has confirmed they won't be playing an international game this season. While the NFL recently announced a return to Madrid as part of a multi-year partnership with Spain, the Bears won't be making the trip.

Many fans expected Chicago to face the Atlanta Falcons overseas, given that the Bears have marketing rights in Spain alongside the Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins. However, the league revealed on Tuesday that the Falcons will host the Cincinnati Bengals in Madrid during Week 9 on Sunday, Nov. 8. This means the Bears have avoided an international game for the second straight season. Instead, they'll play the Falcons in Atlanta this year.

While Chicago isn't headed to Spain in 2026, the team's marketing rights in the region suggest it's only a matter of time before they host a game in Madrid. The Bears last played internationally in 2024, when rookie quarterback Caleb Williams led a dominant 35-16 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. That victory, however, marked the team's last win before a 10-game losing streak that ultimately led to the firing of head coach Matt Eberflus.

The full 2026 Bears schedule drops on Thursday, May 14. Here's a look at who Chicago will face this season:

Home games: Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints, New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Away games: Atlanta Falcons, Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks

For Bears fans, staying home might be a welcome change—especially after the team's recent struggles. But with Spain in their marketing sights, don't be surprised if Chicago is packing their passports in the near future.
