Chelsea are starting to make contact with prospective managerial candidates as they move towards appointing the club's next permanent head coach, including Andoni Iraola, Xabi Alonso, Marco Silva, and Oliver Glasner.

Chelsea FC has officially begun reaching out to potential managerial candidates as the club accelerates its search for a permanent head coach. The Blues, who are looking for their fourth permanent manager since the start of the 2023-24 season, have identified a shortlist of top-tier names to take the reins.

Among the frontrunners are Andoni Iraola, Xabi Alonso, Marco Silva, and Oliver Glasner—all of whom are either currently out of work or set to become available at the end of the season. This timing works in Chelsea's favor, as it means the club won't need to pay compensation fees to secure their services.

Iraola has already confirmed he will depart Bournemouth at season's end, making him an attractive option. The Spaniard is also Crystal Palace's top choice to replace Glasner, but he's taking his time to weigh offers from both Palace and Chelsea. Interestingly, sources suggest Iraola is open to the possibility of entering next season without a club, leaving him available for any mid-season vacancies that might arise.

Meanwhile, Oliver Glasner is leaving Crystal Palace when his contract expires this summer and is reportedly keen to remain in England. Marco Silva's Fulham contract also expires at the end of the season, though he's been offered a three-year extension to stay. The Portuguese manager has options abroad, with clubs in Saudi Arabia also expressing interest should he leave Craven Cottage.

Xabi Alonso, the highly sought-after Bayer Leverkusen boss, remains a prominent name on Chelsea's list, though his current commitments in Germany could complicate any potential move. Additionally, Flamengo head coach Filipe Luis and Como boss Cesc Fabregas—both former Chelsea players—are understood to have admirers within the club's hierarchy.

The Blues are hoping to have a new head coach in place well before pre-season training kicks off in early July. With the summer transfer window approaching, this decision could shape the club's direction for years to come. For fans, the next few weeks promise to be a pivotal period in Chelsea's ongoing rebuild.
