According to Ben Jacobs, the Blues reached out to Xavi's camp to discuss the possibility of the Spaniard replacing Liam Rosenior. However, it appears Chelsea will not pursue this path further, even though the 46-year-old is open to a move to England.

The club has been in turmoil after surprisingly parting ways with Enzo Maresca, who had done well to stabilize a squad that was struggling. Maresca's departure followed a request for more backing in the transfer market and a dip in form, which prompted the Club World Cup champions to bring in Rosenior.
Unfortunately, Rosenior's tenure was short-lived—lasting just 106 days—and Chelsea now faces the real possibility of missing out on Champions League football for the third time in four years. Xavi seemed like the perfect fit for a squad in need of direction. His track record at Barcelona speaks for itself: he guided the Catalan giants to a La Liga title while playing an attractive, attacking brand of football. He also showcased his ability to develop young talent, giving opportunities to rising stars like Pau Cubarsi, Lamine Yamal, Fermin Lopez, and Gavi. With his experience leading Barcelona in Europe both as a player and manager, Xavi would have been an excellent addition to Stamford Bridge.
Compared to other candidates like Andoni Iraola and Marco Silva, Xavi brings a higher level of experience and a winning pedigree that Chelsea's players desperately need. Alongside Xabi Alonso, he stood out as one of the few sensible options on the Blues' shortlist.
