Charles Oliveira has set the Brazilian MMA community abuzz with a tantalizing hint that the UFC may be heading back to its passionate South American fanbase later this year. In a backstage interview at UFC 328, the former lightweight champion and current BMF titleholder dropped some exciting news that could signal a major homecoming for the promotion.

Speaking exclusively to UFC Brasil reporter Evelyn Rodrigues, Oliveira revealed that he's been told the UFC is eyeing a return to São Paulo in October 2026. "I still don't know when it will be my return," Oliveira said. "It can be August, September, or even in October when I was told that UFC is planning an event in São Paulo. If they need me to fill up the house, I'll be ready."

The comment sent waves of excitement through Brazilian fight fans on social media, who have been eagerly awaiting the UFC's return to the country that has produced so many of the sport's biggest stars. While the promotion has yet to officially confirm plans for a Brazilian event this year, Sherdog.com reached out to UFC sources in Brazil who did not provide official confirmation of Oliveira's statement.

Oliveira, known as "Do Bronxs," also showcased his fight IQ by correctly predicting the outcome of the UFC 328 main event. In the interview, he foresaw Sean Strickland's split-decision victory over Khamzat Chimaev for the middleweight title, noting: "Khamzat starts strong, but if the fight goes to the championship rounds, Strickland has good chances to surprise the favorite and win."

For Brazilian fight fans and those who love the energy of a UFC event in South America, this news could mean gearing up for an unforgettable night of action later this year. Stay tuned for official announcements, and in the meantime, make sure you're ready to represent your favorite fighters with the latest fight gear.
