The Boston Red Sox are gearing up for a pivotal three-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies at Fenway Park this week, and interim manager Chad Tracy has laid out the team's rotation plans—offering key updates on Brayan Bello and Ranger Suarez.

After a tough 4-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday, Tracy confirmed that Bello will once again follow an opener in Tuesday's series opener. The opener's identity is still to be determined, but the strategy paid off handsomely in Bello's last outing on May 5. After entering the game in the second inning, he tossed seven innings of one-run ball against the Detroit Tigers. The Red Sox are hoping for a repeat performance, especially given Bello's 9.12 ERA as a starter this season.

Wednesday's game will feature Sonny Gray, who made a strong return from the injured list last week with five scoreless innings against the Tigers. He'll look to build on that momentum against a tough Phillies lineup.

Perhaps the most encouraging news comes for Thursday's series finale, where Ranger Suarez is slated to start. The left-hander hasn't pitched since May 3 due to hamstring tightness and had his start skipped over the weekend, but Tracy confirmed he's good to go. "Everything is good there (with Suarez) so he's slated to throw on Thursday," Tracy said via MassLive's Chris Cotillo. That's a major boost for Boston, as Suarez has been one of the team's most reliable arms with a 2.77 ERA and 0.95 WHIP across seven starts this season—and he'll face his former team.

On the Phillies' side, Zack Wheeler will take the mound Tuesday, followed by Andrew Painter on Wednesday and Jesus Luzardo on Thursday. It's a formidable lineup, but with Bello's new-look role, Gray's comeback, and Suarez's return, the Red Sox have a chance to turn things around after a rough start to the season.
