The Boston Red Sox may soon welcome back one of their most dynamic young hitters, as Roman Anthony continues to recover from a wrist sprain that landed him on the injured list last week.

Anthony suffered the injury during a swing against the Detroit Tigers, and since then, he has been sidelined from batting practice to focus on regaining strength and grip. Interim manager Chad Tracy provided an update on the 22-year-old's progress, noting steady but cautious improvement.

"Roman's improving," Tracy told reporters via MassLive. "Just small, incremental improvements, and we'll keep going until we feel we're in a good spot."

The big question now is whether Anthony will travel with the team to Atlanta for their upcoming road trip starting Friday. Tracy acknowledged the uncertainty, explaining that the timeline depends entirely on how quickly Anthony's grip strength returns.

"It's hard to say because if it improves quickly, he hasn't been out that long, and maybe he would feel comfortable," Tracy added. "The best answer is we've just got to see when this grip strength gets there."

Anthony has had a slow start to the season, hitting .229 with one home run and five RBIs. But when healthy, he's regarded as one of baseball's top young hitters—a player whose swing mechanics and plate discipline can change the complexion of any game. For a Red Sox team looking to find its rhythm, getting Anthony back in the lineup could provide the spark they need.

For now, fans will have to wait and watch as Boston's medical staff monitors Anthony's recovery day by day. The hope is that a few more days of rest and treatment will have him ready to travel—and swing—before long.
