Fir Park has seen its fair share of drama over the years, but few matches can match the sheer chaos, tension, and late heartbreak that unfolded as Celtic snatched a potentially title-defining victory against Motherwell in Lanarkshire. With the Scottish Premiership title race now heading for a winner-takes-all showdown against Hearts at Celtic Park on Saturday, Martin O'Neill's side somehow escaped with all three points after Kelechi Iheanacho converted a 95th-minute penalty to seal a remarkable 3-2 win.

The game exploded into life from the opening whistle in front of a sold-out Fir Park crowd, with both sides attacking aggressively and showing little interest in caution. Motherwell immediately targeted Auston Trusty, who looked unsettled in the early stages, particularly when dealing with crosses and direct balls into the box. Their approach paid off almost instantly. Tom Sparrow produced a sublime touch down the right flank before whipping a dangerous cross into the Celtic area. Trusty's attempted clearance only fell invitingly into the path of Elliot Watt, who thundered a superb half-volley beyond Viljami Sinisalo to hand Motherwell a thoroughly deserved early lead.

The hosts controlled possession comfortably for long spells of the first half while Celtic struggled badly with the tempo and intensity of the contest. Passes went astray, their midfield lacked rhythm, and Motherwell looked sharper in every department. Celtic's best opportunity of the opening half-hour fell to Daizen Maeda after an incisive through ball from Seb Tounekti, but the Japanese forward dragged his effort wide. Maeda would make amends ten minutes later in emphatic fashion. Yang's perfectly weighted pass split the Motherwell defence, and Maeda raced onto it before driving a composed finish beyond Calum Ward, the ball crashing in off the post to restore parity.

Motherwell began the second half brightly and continued to push forward with confidence, but Celtic suddenly found the cutting edge they had lacked for much of the afternoon. In the 58th minute, Benjamin Nygren produced a stunning strike to turn the game, setting up a frantic finish that ultimately saw Iheanacho's penalty decide the drama. For Celtic fans, this victory sets the stage for a thrilling title decider at Paradise—a match that promises even more excitement and could define their season.
