Detroit Tigers score: Casey Mize continued to dominate at Fenway Park, throwing 6 2/3 scoreless innings with just three hits and one walk vs. Boston.

Casey Mize delivered a masterclass in pitching Friday night at Fenway Park, but the Detroit Tigers' bats were silenced in a heartbreaking 1-0, 10-inning loss to the Boston Red Sox. The defeat snapped a promising six-game winning streak for the Tigers, who are still searching for their first road victory since late March.

Mize was simply brilliant, extending his personal dominance at the historic Boston ballpark. The right-hander tossed 6 2/3 scoreless innings, scattering just three hits and one walk. He was locked in a classic pitcher's duel with Boston's Ranger Suárez, who matched him zero for zero through seven frames, setting the stage for a tense, late-game battle.

With both starters long gone, the game stretched into extra innings. The Tigers couldn't capitalize against Red Sox reliever Garrett Whitlock in the top of the 10th. In the bottom half, Boston's Masataka Yoshida finally broke the deadlock, lining a walk-off single through a drawn-in infield off Will Vest to score the automatic runner and send the Fenway faithful home happy.

While the loss stings, the Tigers (10-10) can take solace in Mize's continued resurgence and look ahead to Saturday's marquee matchup. Reigning AL Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal takes the mound, offering Detroit a prime opportunity to bounce back and even the series in what promises to be another compelling pitching showcase.
