The countdown is on for Casemiro's Manchester United exit, with the Brazilian midfielder's next move becoming increasingly clear. At 34, the five-time Champions League winner appears destined for a fresh chapter across the Atlantic.

Recent discussions between Casemiro and Inter Miami have been described as "positive," positioning the MLS champions as the frontrunners to land his signature when his United contract expires on June 30. While LA Galaxy technically hold his discovery rights, the allure of joining Inter Miami—and reuniting with Lionel Messi—is proving hard to resist.

Inter Miami, fresh off their MLS Cup triumph, submitted their initial proposal to Casemiro's camp in late March. The club is eager to add a seasoned midfield anchor following Sergio Busquets' departure, and few players boast the pedigree of the former Real Madrid star. A move to Florida would also pit Casemiro alongside Messi, a longtime adversary from their epic El Clásico and international battles—a rivalry that could now become a formidable partnership.

However, financial hurdles remain. MLS salary cap rules currently limit Inter Miami to three designated players, making a fourth big-money signing impossible without adjustments. Casemiro's current £375,000-per-week wages at United would need a significant haircut, likely through a creative contractual structure, to make the deal work.

Despite being one of United's more consistent performers in recent months, the Red Devils are pushing ahead with their midfield rebuild. Names like Elliot Anderson and Mateus Fernandes have been floated as potential arrivals, signaling a clear shift in direction under Michael Carrick's stewardship. For Casemiro, the sun may be setting on Old Trafford, but a golden opportunity under the Miami sun awaits.
