Carmelo Ezpeleta, the face behind MotoGP’s powerhouse leadership, has sent a clear message to fans and teams alike: the sport’s future is rock solid. Speaking at the official launch of the 35th Catalan Grand Prix in Barcelona, Ezpeleta expressed unwavering confidence that a new commercial agreement with manufacturers—covering the 2027 to 2031 cycle—will be reached, even after nearly a year of intense negotiations.

Held at the stunning Hospital de Sant Pau, the launch event brought together key figures like Circuit de Barcelona president Miquel Samper. For Ezpeleta, a former track director, it was also a chance to reflect on MotoGP’s rapid evolution. Since last year, the sport has undergone a seismic shift, especially with Liberty Media’s acquisition now fully approved. “Things have changed a lot for us,” Ezpeleta shared. “The company is transforming, and the outlook is very good. From the outside, you’ll see it gradually, but the energy is incredible.”

He pointed to surging global interest: “There’s tremendous demand from investors and people wanting to join teams. We already have 22 Grands Prix, but if we could host 27, we’d have cities lining up.” For a sport that thrives on speed and spectacle, that kind of momentum is a game-changer.

But what about the elephant in the room—the unresolved manufacturer agreement? Ezpeleta didn’t shy away. “The proposal for the future is different from before, and that takes time to negotiate,” he explained. “I don’t trust people who avoid contract talks—it means they have no intention of fulfilling them. We discuss to deliver. We will reach an agreement, for sure.”

For fans, this is more than just business jargon. It’s a promise that MotoGP’s next chapter—with its roaring engines, cutting-edge tech, and fierce rivalries—will be bigger and better. And with Ezpeleta at the helm, the checkered flag is already in sight.
