Cardiff City forward Omari Kellyman says the Bluebirds are determined to take care of promotion on their own terms, with promotion possible as soon as Wednesday. Last weekend the 20-year-old opened the scoring at Cardiff City Stadium as Brian Barry-Murphy's side ended a three-match home run without a win - or a goal - with a 2-0 victory against Bolton Wanderers. Saturday's results were significant in the League One promotion race as Cardiff returned to winning ways and third-place Bradford City lost 1-0 at home to Stevenage.

Cardiff City forward Omari Kellyman has issued a confident message as the Bluebirds close in on promotion, insisting the squad is ready to seize the moment on their own terms. With a return to the Championship possible as early as Wednesday, the focus in the camp is razor-sharp.

The 20-year-old, on loan from Chelsea, was the catalyst in a crucial 2-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers last weekend. His 50th-minute opener ended a frustrating three-match home run without a win or a goal, injecting vital momentum back into Cardiff's campaign. The result was compounded by a slip from third-place Bradford City, making Saturday a perfect storm in the League One promotion race.

Now, the equation is simple: a win against Huddersfield Town on Tuesday, coupled with Stockport County dropping points on Wednesday, would secure promotion. However, Kellyman emphasizes the team's self-reliant mentality, dismissing any notion of relying on favours from elsewhere.

"We're not looking for anybody to help us out. We can go and get the job done ourselves," stated the young forward. "We know what we need to do, and the sooner we can get it done, the better."

This belief stems from performances that, until recently, hadn't yielded results. Kellyman acknowledged the frustration but always trusted the process. "Obviously we felt like it's been a long time coming," he said. "Our performances and the scorelines haven't reflected each other, but when that first goal goes in, we know we've got them."

The win against Bolton was a testament to that perseverance, breaking a stubborn deadlock and restoring crucial belief. With top scorer Yousef Salech returning to fitness and the squad hitting form at the perfect time, Cardiff's destiny is firmly in their own hands as they prepare for a decisive week.
