There's nothing quite like the bond of childhood friends, and for a group of six Canadian hockey buddies, that bond has brought them all the way to Raleigh to cheer on Carolina Hurricanes forward Seth Jarvis during his Stanley Cup playoff run.
Lucas Humble, Lucas Fry, Matt McLeod, Sloan Tremblay, Bryan Hanna, and Noah Wagner—who go by the fitting nickname "Good Ol' Canadian Boys"—made the trip south to support their longtime friend and former teammate. For these guys, this is more than just a playoff road trip; it's a front-row seat to a dream they've watched unfold since middle school.
"It's unreal to watch, right?" McLeod said. "Being able to watch him try and battle his way through the Stanley Cup playoffs. It's something that it's a privilege to watch."
The group's history runs deep, dating back to when they first laced up skates together. Even back then, they say, it was obvious Jarvis was destined for big things. "We all played on the same hockey teams and then all of a sudden, you know, since day one, he was going to make it to the next level and he actually did," Wagner recalled. Tremblay added simply, "He's living his lifelong dream and he's doing good at it."
The friends documented their journey from Canada on social media, sharing clips from their flight, van ride, and time in Raleigh. The highlight? A stop at Lenovo Center for Game 2, where Jarvis delivered a key play to tie the game—a moment that made the long trip feel even more worthwhile.
"It's been unbelievable," Hanna said. "I've been here almost every year that he's played on the team. And this year, coming out with how good the team is, it looks like they could have a chance for a pretty serious run."
With the Hurricanes looking stronger than ever, the "Good Ol' Canadian Boys" are hoping their presence—and their unwavering support—helps fuel a deep playoff push. "I think the Canes are in a better spot than they were last year," Humble noted. "We got some more guys to come out this year, so it's a bigger team supporting Jarvis and the Canes. It's been great so far, and a lot of morale going forward."
For these friends, this trip is a reminder that the best hockey memories aren't just made on the ice—they're shared with the people who've been there from the very beginning.
