Can Josh Allen finally deliver success for Bills in 2026?

It really does feel like time is running out.

The pressure has never been higher for Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. As the 2026 season approaches, the clock is ticking on one of the NFL's most talented quarterbacks to finally deliver a Super Bowl run.

After years of playoff heartbreak, the Bills made a bold move this offseason by parting ways with longtime head coach Sean McDermott. In his place steps offensive coordinator-turned-head coach Joe Brady, tasked with unlocking Allen's full potential when it matters most.

Buffalo didn't stop there. The front office made it clear they're all-in on Allen's prime by adding veteran wide receiver D.J. Moore via trade, along with pass rusher Bradley Chubb to bolster the defense. The draft brought even more firepower: defensive end T.J. Parker and wide receiver Skylar Bell, who exploded for 101 catches, 1,278 yards, and 13 touchdowns last season at Connecticut.

On paper, this is a roster built for a deep playoff run. But the Bills have looked good on paper before. The question haunting Buffalo fans is simple: can they finally get over the hump?

CBS Sports' Bryan DeArdo sees reason for optimism, particularly in the weapons now surrounding Allen. "In Allen, the Bills continue to have one of the league's best players," DeArdo notes. "This offseason, the Bills helped Allen by acquiring veteran receiver DJ Moore from Chicago. Buffalo then spent a fourth-round draft pick on fellow wideout Skyler Bell."

The reality for Allen and the Bills is something only a handful of teams understand—including perhaps the Ravens and Lamar Jackson. Regular-season success no longer moves the needle. A 15-2 record? Impressive, but meaningless if it doesn't translate to January wins. Anything short of a Super Bowl appearance is considered a failure in Buffalo.

That's the weight Allen carries into 2026. The regular season still matters for seeding and momentum, but the only thing that will quiet the doubters is playoff success. With new weapons, a new head coach, and a roster built to win now, all eyes are on No. 17 to finally deliver.
