Here's how much money the Kansas City Chiefs might have to pay superstar WR Stefon Diggs if they want to pursue him as a free agent.

The Kansas City Chiefs have already made some noise during the 2026 NFL Draft, but general manager Brett Veach might not be done reshaping the offense just yet. After missing out on veteran wide receiver Jauan Jennings in free agency this week, Veach is likely scanning the market for another weapon to pair with Patrick Mahomes. One name that stands out? Superstar wideout Stefon Diggs, who remains available as a free agent and could be a game-changing addition for the Chiefs as they gear up for their offseason training program.

According to the contract analysts at Spotrac.com, Diggs' fair market value would be a two-year deal worth approximately $27.6 million, or about $13.8 million per season. That's a relatively modest price tag for a player of Diggs' caliber—he's been one of the NFL's most consistent and explosive receivers over the past several seasons. For context, that annual salary would slot him just outside the top 20 highest-paid wide receivers, making it a potential bargain for a team looking to add elite talent.

However, there's a catch. The Chiefs currently have only a little over $6 million in available cap space, which means they'd need to get creative to fit Diggs under the salary cap. Whether through restructuring existing contracts, releasing other players, or offering a more team-friendly deal, Veach would have to work some financial magic to make it happen. Given his track record of bold moves, though, don't count out the possibility just yet. If the Chiefs can find a way, pairing Diggs with Mahomes could make an already dangerous offense even more formidable heading into the season.
