Cameron Young is making the 2026 PGA Tour season his personal highlight reel. After a dominant performance at the Cadillac Championship in Doral on May 3, the 27-year-old has once again climbed to the top of the money list—marking the third time this season he's held the No. 1 spot.
Young's second victory of the year came with a hefty $3.6 million first-place check, pushing his season earnings past the $11 million mark. Combined with the $4.5 million he pocketed for winning The Players Championship earlier this year, those two wins alone account for more than 71% of his total haul—an impressive $8.1 million from just two tournaments.
Hot on his heels is Scottie Scheffler, who posted his third consecutive runner-up finish at Doral. Scheffler sits second with over $10.5 million in earnings, with $6.75 million of that coming from those three second-place paydays alone. It's a testament to just how deep the talent pool is this season—and how lucrative the Tour's new big-money events have become.
The cash grab isn't slowing down. This week, the Tour heads to the Truist Championship at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, N.C., offering the same $20 million purse and $3.6 million winner's share as last week. Young's lead might be safe for now, though: Scheffler is sitting this one out, leaving only No. 3 Matt Fitzpatrick as a real threat. Fitzpatrick, who skipped the Cadillac Championship and dropped from first to third, is less than $750,000 behind Young. Meanwhile, fourth-place Jacob Bridgeman trails by more than $4.5 million.
This season has been a rollercoaster for the money lead, which has changed hands 10 times already. Young is just the third multiple winner this year, joining Fitzpatrick (three victories) and Chris Gotterup (two). Young's previous stints atop the list came after his Players Championship win and his tie for third at the Masters. For context, Bridgeman has held the lead for the most weeks overall—six in total.
The financial stakes are higher than ever: 68 players have now earned $1 million or more on the course, 34 have crossed the $2 million threshold, 17 have topped $3 million, and 11 have surpassed $4 million. As the season heats up, all eyes will be on Quail Hollow to see if Young can extend his reign—or if Fitzpatrick will make a move to reclaim the top spot.
