Caitlin Clark is gearing up for her third WNBA season, and her biggest fan is already in the stands—her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery.
The Indiana Fever star posted a carousel of training photos on Instagram Monday, May 4, giving fans a glimpse of her preparation for the upcoming season. McCaffery, a former Iowa basketball player, couldn't contain his excitement, commenting, "Year 3 is crazy."
For Clark, 24, this season marks a fresh start after a challenging sophomore campaign in 2024, where she played just 13 games due to a groin injury. The setback ended an incredible streak of 206 consecutive games dating back to high school, through her four years at the University of Iowa, and her entire rookie WNBA season.
Being sidelined was tough for the young star. "I miss this so bad," she wrote on her Instagram Stories in September 2025, sharing a photo of herself celebrating on the court with cheering fans behind her.
Through the ups and downs, McCaffery has been a steady presence. The couple began dating in April 2023, and Clark has never been shy about showing her appreciation. Last July, she posted a sweet birthday tribute for him: "Happy happy happy birthday Con🥳 you make everyday better and I couldn't be more grateful. May this be the best year yet, i love you 🖤🖤."
McCaffery, 27, recently stepped away from his role as an assistant coach at Butler University. "End of an era! Forever grateful to Coach [Thad] Matta for the opportunity that he gave me," he wrote on Instagram April 9. "Learned a lot and worked with great people 🙏🏼 excited for what's next!" Clark showed her support with a simple but heartfelt comment: "Fun times."
As Clark prepares to return to the court, fans are eager to see what Year 3 holds for the Fever star—and whether her consecutive games streak can start anew.
