In a slugfest that had fans on the edge of their seats, the Spartanburgers (17-16) crushed four home runs—tying a franchise single-game record—to take down the Asheville Tourists (8-26) in a 13-11 thriller at HomeTrust Park. The ‘Burgers racked up 15 hits, with every starter in the Hub City lineup contributing at least one base knock.

The fireworks started early. In the top of the second inning, Gleider Figuereo launched a leadoff homer off Asheville starter Luis Rodriguez, setting the tone for an explosive frame. After singles from Yeison Morrobel and Quincy Scott, Luke Hanson went deep to extend the lead. Maxton Martin followed with a hit of his own, and Rafe Perich cleared the 36-foot wall in right field to cap off a three-homer inning—the first time Spartanburgers have accomplished that feat. Suddenly, it was 6-0.

Asheville answered with a two-run homer from Chase Call in the bottom half, but the ‘Burgers weren’t done. In the third, Morrobel singled and scored on an error, setting the stage for Malcolm Moore’s grand slam—his fourth home run of the season—to blow the game wide open at 11-2. Rodriguez was chased after just 2.1 innings, tagged for eight runs (six earned).

Asheville chipped away with two runs in the bottom of the third on an RBI double from Alejandro Nunez, but Spartanburgers starter Aidan Curry settled in, striking out the side and finishing with seven punchouts over four solid innings. The bullpen took over from there, but the Tourists refused to quit, scoring eight runs over the final five frames to make it a one-possession game.

Still, the Spartanburgers’ offense kept pressing. Morrobel and Scott sparked a fourth-inning rally that chased reliever Joan Ogando, and Hanson crushed a second homer in the seventh to give Hub City some breathing room. With 33 home runs through 33 games, the ‘Burgers are proving they can bash with the best of them.

For fans who love the long ball, this was a night to remember—and a reminder that the Spartanburgers are heating up at just the right time. Whether you’re watching from the stands or repping the team at home, this is the kind of energy that makes baseball unforgettable.
