Four teams, two finalists. A new champion will be crowned in Mexico this week. Who’s going to be? Rayadas de Monterrey or Club América?

The stage is set. The lights are bright. And a new champion will be crowned in Mexico. After an intense semifinal round, only two teams remain standing: Rayadas de Monterrey and Club América. Who will take it all?

Let’s start with the Rayadas. If you’re a fan of comebacks, this one was for the history books. Remember last year? Down 3-0 on aggregate against Tigres, former captain Rebeca Bernal challenged her teammates: “Anyone who doesn’t believe in us can leave this locker room right now.” They didn’t leave. They fought. They forced extra time, won on penalties, and lifted the trophy.

That same fighting spirit is alive and well this season. Even with a new coach and only 12 players remaining from that championship squad, the heart of the team hasn’t changed. Facing Pachuca in the semifinals, they found themselves in another hole—down 2-0 after the first leg. But coach Amandine Miquel refused to let her team fold. Despite an early goal from Pachuca’s Natalia Mauleón just three minutes into the second leg, the Rayadas regrouped. Valerie Vargas, Christina Burkenroad, and Lucía García led the charge, and a crucial own goal from Osinachi turned the tide. Confidence restored. Comeback complete.

Over on the other side of the bracket, Club América wrote their own dominant story. They faced Toluca’s Diablas, who had made history by reaching the semifinals for the first time. Expectations were high—Toluca’s roster was packed with international talent, and fans believed they could go all the way. But América had other plans.

The first leg turned into a nightmare for Toluca. Just 13 minutes in, they were already down 2-0. Scarlett Camberos converted from the penalty spot in the 8th minute, and Kim Rodríguez doubled the lead five minutes later. Defender Abby Erceg pulled one back for the hosts, but that was just a brief pause in América’s onslaught. By the final whistle, they had put seven goals past the Diablas. Brazilian star Geyse Ferreira scored twice, Spanish international Irene Guerrero added another, and midfielder Nancy Antonio delivered a moment of pure magic with an incredible goal that will be replayed for years.

So here we are. Two teams. One trophy. Rayadas bring the grit and the comeback mentality. Club América bring the firepower and the swagger. Buckle up—this final is going to be unforgettable.
