Bryson DeChambeau has withdrawn ahead of the final round of LIV Golf Mexico City due to a wrist injury.
The two-time U.S. Open champion posted on social media Sunday, saying he felt discomfort in his wrist during Saturday's third round, prompting him to WD before the final round. "Not how I wanted this week to go, but wishing the Crushers to a strong finish."
DeChambeau also said he hopes to return ahead of LIV Golf Virginia, set for May 7-10, the week before the PGA Championship at Aronimink in Pennsylvania.
Earlier this week, DeChambeau slammed course conditions at Chapultepec, and it's not the first time he has done that. "You've got destroyed grass," DeChambeau said Thursday after blading a bunker shot beyond a green. The video then showed the Crushers GC captain waiting for a rules official while continuing to lament the lack of grass around his ball.
"Oh, this is rough? Definitely. Good to see," he sarcastically continued. "Guys, this is what we're playing on apparently."
In 2025, DeChambeau struggled to hit out of what he called "the worst f***ing bunkers ever" that could "break someone's wrist." And now, a wrist injury has him backing out ahead of the final round.
He was tied for 41st at 2 over overall after two rounds of play. Last week, DeChambeau triple bogeyed the 18th hole at Augusta National to miss the cut in the Masters.
Luis Carrera is replacing DeChambeau in the lineup for the team competition Sunday. It will be Carrera's first round on LIV.
