Bryson DeChambeau’s major championship struggles continued this week at the PGA Championship, where he missed the cut for the second time this year. The LIV Golf star shot a 1-over 71 in the second round at Aronimink Golf Club, finishing with a total of 7-over 147—three shots shy of the weekend.

It’s been a tough stretch for DeChambeau in golf’s biggest events. He’s now missed the cut in three of his last four majors, including a 6-over 150 at the Masters earlier this season. His 7-over performance this week also marks his worst score to par in nine PGA Championship appearances.

Despite the struggles, DeChambeau has found success elsewhere—namely on his YouTube channel, which has been thriving. The 31-year-old has openly questioned whether the PGA Tour needs him more than he needs it, but his recent results haven’t backed up that confidence. After both rounds, he declined to speak with reporters.

Earlier this month at LIV’s tournament in Virginia, DeChambeau hinted at a potential pivot if LIV Golf folds and returning to the PGA Tour proves too costly. He called any potential sanctions from the Tour “quite unfortunate… considering what I could do for them,” and said he’s “prepared to grow his YouTube channel” if needed.

Windy conditions and tricky pin placements at Aronimink pushed the cut line to 4-over par, catching several big names. Tommy Fleetwood, the world No. 6, missed the cut at 5-over after rounds of 72 and 73. Other notables heading home early include Akshay Bhatia (5-over), Viktor Hovland, Keegan Bradley and Gary Woodland (all 6-over), Billy Horschel and Adam Scott (8-over), and Max Homa (12-over).

Garrick Higgo was assessed a two-shot penalty for being less than a minute late to his first-round tee time, and he wound up missing the cut by one shot after a 6-over 76 in the second round.

For DeChambeau, this slump is a stark contrast to his best major run just last year, when he finished runner-up at the PGA Championship and won the U.S. Open. But for now, his focus may be shifting from the fairway to the camera.
