The Boston Bruins (1-2) are on home ice again for Game 4 against the Buffalo Sabres (2-1). They fell in Game 3 and have not won a home playoff game since Game 7 vs. Toronto (May 4, 2024).

At practice on Friday, Marco Sturm experimented with some lineup changes. He said that James Hagens did not make mistakes that put him out of the lineup, but they are opting for Lukas Reichel for speed.

Jordan Harris took Mason Lohrei’s spot alongside Hampus Lindholm as well. Sturm said that there were gametime decisions to be made due to injuries, but later said Lohrei is “fine.”

The Sabres rolled out their same lines at practice yesterday, according to The Athletic’s Matthew Fairburn.

The Sabres moved Noah Ostlund to their top power play unit yesterday, hoping to give a spark to a dull unit. The Sabres have not scored a power-play goal in April, going 0-for-36 (0-for-14 this series). They hit over 60 power-play minutes without scoring a goal during Game 3.

The Sabres have outscored the Bruins this series, 9-8. In the third period alone, the Sabres have outscored the Bruins 8-3.

The Bruins will not have a morning skate. Marco Sturm will meet with the media approx. 90 minutes before puck drop to confirm lineup changes and the starting goaltender.
