Boston suffered a stunning 4-3 loss in Game 1, in a game the Bruins were up 2-0 in the third period, before Buffalo scored four-straight to get the comeback win. It was a disappointing result for Boston, but head coach Marco Sturm believes there are a lot of positives to take away and is confident the team has regrouped and is ready for Game 2.

“There’s not much to say usually after losses,” Sturm said after practice on Monday. “But today, guys know me, I always get to the point right away today even so I feel better. I think these guys feel better, too, after watching.

“It’s a long series, we’re ready for a long series, we want to play a long series. That means yesterday was yesterday. Today is today. It’s actually sunny here in Buffalo. We’ve got to enjoy that, regroup, recharge and go back at it tomorrow. I liked our attitude.”

Boston will get a chance to right its wrong and even up the series on Tuesday night in Game 2 against Buffalo. If the Bruins can win, Boston will take home ice and have control of the series.

So, ahead of a pivotal Game 2, Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy believes the team knows what it needs to do to get the win.

"Come out and just try to play a great hockey game,” McAvoy said. “Just finish it a little bit better.”
