After double-dipping with wide receivers early in the draft, the Cleveland Browns did the same with the tight end position, using their final pick in the seventh round, taking BYU tight end Carsen Ryan. There were questions about the tight end room outside of Harold Fannin Jr., and the Browns added depth and role players to the room on day three of the draft.

The Browns are adding a blocking tight end in Jack Stoll, but Ryan brings more receiving upside to the table than Stoll, in addition to his blocking ability. He's another player who does a good job of being a safety blanket and finding the hole in zone coverage.

Ryan is a decent round runner but can struggle to get off the line of scrimmage quickly and to separate at times, which led to his being a seventh-round draft pick and likely why he is just a role player at the next level.
