The Cleveland Browns may not be the odds-on favorite to make the 2026 NFL playoffs, but that doesn't mean they should sit still. After loading up on offense in the draft, the Browns still have a glaring hole on defense: the slot cornerback position. Enter Kenny Moore III, the Indianapolis Colts' veteran Pro Bowler, who could be the missing piece to form what many are calling the league's most feared cornerback trio.
According to a recent trade scenario from Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox, the Browns are a "potential suitor" for Moore, with a projected trade value of just a 2027 sixth-round pick. At that price, it's a no-brainer for a team looking to upgrade a secondary that already features two elite cover men.
Right now, the Browns have Myles Harden penciled in as the starting nickel corner. While Harden isn't a liability—there are worse options in the league—he's a clear upgrade target. That's where Moore fits in. A slot-only specialist, Moore would slide seamlessly into Harden's spot, pairing with All-Pro Denzel Ward and talented veteran Tyson Campbell to create a cornerback room that could rival any in football.
Let's break down the numbers. Moore has allowed an 89.9 passer rating over his nine-year career, hauling in 21 interceptions and four pick-sixes. Ward, a five-time Pro Bowler, has been even stingier, allowing a 75.3 passer rating with 18 interceptions and two pick-sixes in eight seasons. Campbell, the youngest of the group, has seven interceptions and a pick-six to his name, and in his 12-game stint with the Browns in 2025, he allowed an impressive 84.8 passer rating.
Some teams have good cornerback rooms. The Browns, with Moore in the mix, would have a great one. And in a league where passing attacks are only getting more dangerous, a lockdown secondary could be the difference between a rebuilding year and a surprise playoff run.
