It's too early to decide anything yet about the Cleveland Browns' quarterback room, but they have begun their voluntary offseason workouts, and one quarterback had to take the first-team snaps.
In 11-on-11s, Sanders got the first team reps. However, when the team transitioned to 7-on-7, it was Watson who got the first team reps. So, the Browns are playing their cards close to the vest. They told us it would likely be a battle between Watson and Sanders, and that's how it appears on the first day of voluntary workouts.
While Sanders and Watson will be competing, general manager Andrew Berry did not rule out adding another young quarterback to the room. This could be in the form of a prospect drafted later this week in the 2026 NFL Draft, or it could be in the form of a trade for a younger veteran.
If the Browns opt for a younger veteran, two quarterbacks who potentially make sense with head coach Todd Monken's desire for an athletic quarterback are Will Levis or Anthony Richardson. Dillon Gabriel seems to be the odd man left out, and one has to wonder if he'll even be on the roster by the end of training camp.
