The Cleveland Browns are holding their offseason workouts in the days leading up to the NFL Draft, and Todd Monken's first chance to see the quarterbacks will be a big topic of conversation.

On the first day of 11-on-11 for the Browns, the quarterback who gets the first reps of the practice will likely have the advantage of being the starting quarterback this season. Or, at least, they will have the leg up on the competition to win the job.

That's why Mark Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reporting that Shedeur Sanders is the first quarterback up for the 11-on-11 drills is some great news for the former Colorado QB to win the starting job this season.

"Browns Shedeur Sanders up first in 11 on 11 just like Monken hinter at the owners meetings," Cabot reports.

This doesn't mean that Sanders will be the starting quarterback come Week 1 of the NFL season, but it's a great first step towards winning that job.

After playing in eight games last year, throwing for 1,400 passing yards with a 56.6% completion rate and seven touchdowns to 10 interceptions with a 68.1 passer rating, Sanders needs to have a good camp and practice to convince Monken to give him the job.

Of course, with Dillon Gabriel and Deshaun Watson not being the most exciting or high upside quarterbacks in the NFL, Sanders has a decent chance to win the starting job this year.

This offseason workout report from Cabot, that Sanders is getting the first reps of the practices this spring, is some good news for his odds to land the starting job.

There's still plenty that could change with this QB competition, but, at least initially, it looks like Sanders has the advantage in this race for the Browns' starting QB job.
