The Cleveland Browns used pick 182 to draft QB Taylen Green on Saturday during the 2026 NFL Draft, a surprise because of the already crowded quarterback depth chart in Cleveland.

That may not have been the most interesting part of the pick, though.

This selection had been traded six times before the Browns used it on Saturday.

The sixth-round pick that became 182 began with the New York Jets, who traded it to Cleveland last summer for Jowon Briggs.

The Browns didn't keep it, though, instead moving it with Greg Newsome to the Jaguars in the Tyson Campbell trade.

Then it was part of the Jakobi Meyers trade, heading to the Las Vegas Raiders.

From there, it was part of the Taron Johnson trade, going to the Buffalo Bills.

Then it was part of a draft day move from the Bills to the Denver Broncos.

Finally, the Browns got it back during the draft, and they used it to pick Green.

The pick itself was certainly surprising, but in reality it's an organization that hasn't gotten QB right taking a chance on a super athletic guy to take another chance on figure out the most important position in sports.

Picks trade hands a lot in the NFL these days, too, although not often six times for one selection.

Combine those two things and you get a draft pick that was incredibly unlikely, but everything aligned to reach that moment.
