Myles Garrett requested a trade from the Cleveland Browns last year, and the franchise responded with a whopping four-year, $160 million extension. Garrett paid back with the best season a pass-rusher could ever have, with a record-breaking 23 sacks, leading to him being named Defensive Player of the Year for the second time in three years.

The reason behind Garrett's name on the trade block could be traced back to the Browns restructuring his contract to gain financial flexibility this offseason. Even though the franchise denies it, according to Mike Sando of The Athletic, one unnamed NFL executive believes the pass-rusher could be traded.

"The report of the option bonus date moving later for Myles Garrett makes me think Cleveland is planning on trading him," the exec said.

Assuming it could be true, the Philadelphia Eagles were named as the potential landing spot.

NFL insider Dov Klieman shared that the Eagles are considered a top "trade partner" for Myles Garrett and Pittsburgh Steelers' TJ Watt if they are available. This makes sense, knowing Eagles GM Howie Roseman and his bold approaches in the offseason.

The Eagles have draft capital and financial resources to chase defensive stars and continue their push for another Super Bowl run with quarterback Jalen Hurts.

However, the potential trade of Garrett to the Eagles has its own obstacles.

The Browns would absorb a massive dead cap salary if they traded Garrett's $160 million contract. Also, it could cost the Eagles multiple first-round picks, making the possibility of the potential trade that much more difficult.

Keeping that all in mind, wisdom doesn't often prevail when it comes to star players.
