Of Brooks Koepka's nine PGA Tour wins, five are majors. Not suprisingly then, the percentage of his PGA Tour career money earned in majors is staggering

Brooks Koepka has always been the man for the big occasion. Before his move to LIV Golf and subsequent return to the PGA Tour this season, he built a reputation as a major championship specialist. Of his eight PGA Tour wins before 2022, four were majors—and he added a fifth at the 2023 PGA Championship while playing for LIV.

That knack for rising to the moment shows up in his bank account. Over his career, Koepka has earned just over $45 million in PGA Tour events. Remarkably, more than half of that—$23.3 million—has come from the four major championships alone. It's a staggering stat that underscores just how dominant he is when the stakes are highest.

Given that Koepka has lifted the Wanamaker Trophy three times, it's no surprise he tops the all-time PGA Championship money list. In 13 starts at the event, the 36-year-old has pocketed $9.456 million. That puts him more than $2 million ahead of Tiger Woods, who sits in second place with three PGA wins of his own.

But here's where it gets really eye-opening: roughly 21 percent of Koepka's total PGA Tour earnings have come from this one tournament alone. That's far and away the highest percentage among the top money earners in PGA Championship history. To put it in perspective, only Bryson DeChambeau has cracked the 10 percent mark among the rest of the field.

Take a look at the top 10 all-time PGA Championship money leaders and how much of their career earnings come from this event:

1. Brooks Koepka — $9,456,726 (13 starts) — 20.97%
2. Tiger Woods — $7,354,862 (23 starts) — 6.08%
3. Phil Mickelson — $6,510,066 (32 starts) — 6.73%
4. Rory McIlroy — $6,349,228 (17 starts) — 5.52%
5. Scottie Scheffler — $6,152,768 (6 starts) — 5.59%
6. Justin Thomas — $5,672,581 (10 starts) — 7.87%
7. Bryson DeChambeau — $4,636,217 (8 starts) — 12.53%
8. Jason Day — $4,369,608 (16 starts) — 6.55%
9. Xander Schauffele — $4,363,822 (9 starts) — 6.58%
10. Justin Rose — $3,540,011 (23 starts) — 4.59%

The PGA of America hasn't announced this year's prize purse yet, but last year's total was $19 million, with Scottie Scheffler taking home $3.42 million for the win. Assuming the payout stays at least that high, it means that if Rory McIlroy or Scottie Scheffler were to win this week, they'd make a serious dent in their career percentages—though catching Koepka's 21 percent mark might still be a tall order.
