The Denver Broncos have added some experienced depth to their receiving corps, signing veteran wide receiver Mike Woods following a tryout at the team's rookie minicamp this past weekend. The move, first reported by NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, brings a familiar face back to the organization after Woods initially worked out for the team last September.

Standing at 6-foot-1 and 204 pounds, the 26-year-old receiver originally entered the league as a sixth-round pick out of Oklahoma by the Cleveland Browns in 2022. Over three seasons with the Browns, Woods appeared in 15 games, hauling in 12 receptions for 110 yards. Interestingly, one of his more memorable performances came against the Broncos in 2024, when he caught three passes for 43 yards. After his stint in Cleveland, Woods spent part of the 2025 season on the Green Bay Packers' practice squad, making Denver his third NFL stop.

The Broncos hosted a packed rookie minicamp with 60 players, including 33 rookie tryout hopefuls and four veteran tryout players. Woods stood out enough to earn a contract, but the team will need to make a corresponding roster move to free up a spot for him—so expect at least one more transaction later today.

For a Broncos team looking to bolster its offensive weapons, Woods brings valuable NFL experience and a chance to compete for a roster spot this summer. It's a story of persistence paying off, as a second chance at a tryout turned into a real opportunity. Stay tuned as the roster continues to take shape.
