The Denver Broncos have officially signed their final pick of the 2026 NFL Draft, inking linebacker Red Murdock to a four-year rookie contract. The deal, first reported by 850 KOA's Benjamin Albright, is worth just over $4.5 million and includes a $122,000 signing bonus.
Murdock earned the unique title of "Mr. Irrelevant" as the 257th and final selection in this year's draft, but his college resume is anything but forgettable. Standing at 6-foot-1 and 232 pounds, the Buffalo Bulls standout was a dominant force in the MAC over his four-year career. Most notably, he set a new FBS record with 17 forced fumbles, breaking a mark previously held by former Bulls star and NFL All-Pro Khalil Mack.
Murdock is the first of Denver's seven drafted rookies to sign his contract, ahead of the team's rookie minicamp later this week. Expect the rest of the class to follow suit shortly, officially making them Broncos.
The team kicked off its offseason program on Monday, with organized team activities (OTAs) set to begin in June. Fans will get their first real look at Murdock and the rest of the rookie class during training camp later this summer—a perfect time to grab some fresh Broncos gear to show your support!
