Patrick and Brittany Mahomes swapped Arrowhead Stadium for pitch-side seats this Mother's Day, bringing their growing family to CPKC Stadium to watch the Kansas City Current extend their undefeated streak with a dominant 3-0 victory over Chicago Stars FC. While the Mahomes crew cheered from the stands, star striker Temwa Chawinga stole the show, torching Chicago's defense with a first-half hat trick in just 27 minutes. By the time the reigning NWSL MVP checked out in the 77th minute, the game was already well in hand.
The family outing capped off a busy week for the Mahomes household. Brittany recently opened up about battling a painful wrist condition, while Patrick continues rehabbing his knee this offseason as he gears up for another NFL campaign with the Kansas City Chiefs. But on Sunday, it was all about quality time with their three children—daughters Sterling Skye and Golden Raye, plus son Patrick "Bronze" Mahomes III—as they cheered on their hometown team.
The Current and Brittany shared a joint Instagram post showing the Mahomes starting lineup decked out in KC Current gear, locked in from the stands. The caption read: "Another Mahomes Mother's Day 🥹 Co-owners @brittanylynne & @patrickmahomes enjoying a dub at home 🥰." And "dub" was the perfect call for a team that continues to set the standard in the NWSL.
Brittany has been by Patrick's side since their high school days, but she's built her own impressive lane in the sports world. After playing professional soccer in Iceland, she's become one of women's sports' most passionate advocates. Her ownership role with the Kansas City Current—which she and Patrick joined in December 2020—has helped bring major investment and visibility to the NWSL. Last year, the duo reportedly invested $275 million in a new professional league, truly moving the chains for women's soccer.
