The Milwaukee Brewers have delivered some reassuring news about one of their most promising young stars. Luis Peña, the organization's No. 3 prospect, is back on the road to recovery after a frightening dugout collapse last month—and he could be back on the field sooner than you think.

It was April 22 when the 19-year-old shortstop suddenly passed out in the dugout during a game for the Class High-A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. The incident was so alarming that the game was called off immediately. Peña was diagnosed with overheating and spent the night in the hospital receiving fluids before being released the following morning.

After a follow-up visit with a neurologist on May 4, the team remained tight-lipped about the details. But now, the wait is over. According to a Brewers spokesperson, Peña has finally been cleared to resume baseball activities and has already started a progression program in Arizona.

"He has begun a progression in Arizona that should put him in his first [Arizona Complex League] Brewers game as early as next weekend," the spokesperson confirmed.

That's a huge sigh of relief for Brewers fans, especially considering how hot Peña was before the incident. In just 12 games with Wisconsin, he was tearing it up at the plate—batting an impressive .372 with a .973 OPS. It's no surprise that MLB Pipeline ranks him as the No. 19 prospect in all of baseball.

Peña has been placed on the 7-day injured list, which allows him to begin a rehab assignment in the Arizona Complex League when he's ready. For a player who was off to such a stellar start, this positive update is exactly the kind of news that gets fans excited about what's next.

Stay tuned for more updates on Peña's return, and in the meantime, gear up for the season with the latest Brewers apparel to show your support for the next generation of stars.
