Luis Rengifo drove in three runs, Kyle Harrison recorded seven strikeouts in five scoreless innings and the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the San Diego Padres 7-1 on Thursday. The victory capped a 5-1 homestand for the Brewers, who swept the New York Yankees before winning two of three from San Diego. The Brewers scored three runs in each of the first two innings against Griffin Canning (0-2), who couldn’t make it out of the second.

The Milwaukee Brewers wrapped up a dominant homestand in style on Thursday, defeating the San Diego Padres 7-1 behind a stellar performance from Luis Rengifo and Kyle Harrison. The victory capped a 5-1 stretch at home, where the Brewers first swept the New York Yankees before taking two of three from San Diego.

Harrison (4-1) was electric on the mound, striking out seven batters over five scoreless innings while allowing just five hits and no walks. His ERA now sits at an impressive 2.09, showcasing why he's becoming a key arm in Milwaukee's rotation.

The Brewers jumped on Padres starter Griffin Canning early, plating three runs in each of the first two innings. Canning (0-2) couldn't escape the second frame, struggling with command after an initial strikeout of Jackson Chourio. He walked four consecutive batters, with Andrew Vaughn drawing a bases-loaded walk to bring in the first run.

In the second inning, the Brewers kept the pressure on. Brice Turang and Gary Sánchez each ripped RBI doubles, before Vaughn singled home Sánchez to extend the lead. Canning has now surrendered 12 runs over his last two starts covering just six innings.

Milwaukee added to its lead in the fourth inning when Vaughn doubled and scored on a Rengifo single, making it 7-0. Rengifo has been red-hot at the plate, going 7-for-12 over his last three games.

Elsewhere around the league, Cincinnati's Chase Burns delivered six scoreless innings, and JJ Bleday crushed two home runs while driving in six runs as the Reds avoided a sweep against Washington. Burns (5-1) allowed just two hits and struck out seven, extending his winning streak to four decisions. Matt McLain gave the Reds an early lead with a solo home run in the second inning, and Bleday's three-run blast in the fifth put the game out of reach.

In Pittsburgh, Endy Rodriguez collected two hits in a solid outing, though details on the Pirates' matchup remain brief.
