The hard-throwing righty is a cheat code.

Every now and then, a pitcher comes along who makes hitters look helpless. For the Milwaukee Brewers, that pitcher is Jacob Misiorowski—and he's quickly knocking on the door of becoming a top-five starter in the league.

Misiorowski's journey to the big leagues wasn't exactly conventional. As a high school junior, he was already turning heads in front of scouts from the Brewers, Rays, and Rockies. But then COVID-19 wiped out his senior season, forcing him to take the junior college route at Crowder College. He had his sights set on LSU, but the Brewers had other plans, selecting him 63rd overall in the 2022 MLB Draft.

Once he signed, Misiorowski wasted no time climbing the ladder. Entering 2025 as Milwaukee's No. 3 prospect, he started the year in Triple-A before making his MLB debut that June—and he did so in style, throwing the fastest pitch ever recorded by a Brewers pitcher in the Statcast era.

Now, in 2026, he's been with the big league club from Opening Day. Through seven starts and 38 innings, Misiorowski has posted a stellar 2.84 ERA with a 2.99 FIP, earning him the No. 7 spot in MLB.com's latest Pitching Power Rankings. But here's where it gets really interesting: he's recorded 23 strikeouts on pitches of 100 mph or faster this season—that's 17 more than any other starter in baseball. In fact, he owns the top 14 spots on that list.

Of course, raw power alone doesn't make an ace. Misiorowski is still fine-tuning his command and consistency, but the early returns are more than promising. And for a Brewers team that traded away ace Freddy Peralta in the offseason, his emergence couldn't have come at a better time.

If he continues to develop at this pace, Milwaukee may have found not just a replacement for Peralta—but a true front-line starter who can dominate for years to come. Keep an eye on this flamethrower; he's just getting started.
