Brentford FC is taking a major leap forward in women's and girls' football with the launch of a brand-new Girls' Academy and an enhanced development pathway, set to kick off for the 2026/27 season. This exciting initiative underscores the club's growing commitment to nurturing female talent from the grassroots up.
The new academy will feature a structured system centered on a Junior Premier League games program, creating a clear and supportive route from youth levels to the first team. Starting this autumn, the academy will initially include Under-14s and Under-16s squads, all backed by staff from the Brentford FC Community Sports Trust. Best of all, participation is free—removing financial barriers and opening doors for talented young players to thrive in a high-performance environment.
But the investment doesn't stop there. An Under-18s Trust side will also compete in the Junior Premier League, alongside expanded Emerging Talent Centre offerings for Under-10s and Under-12s. This multi-tiered approach ensures that every promising player has a pathway to progress, whether they're just starting out or eyeing a spot on the senior team.
On the senior side, Brentford Women will have a new home starting in the 2026/27 season: Uxbridge Football Club's historic Honeycroft ground. Founded in 1871, Uxbridge is one of England's oldest clubs, and its Honeycroft venue has undergone a major redevelopment, including a state-of-the-art 3G pitch and top-quality facilities. With a capacity of 3,770, it's a fitting stage for the women's team to call home.
As part of this overall program, Brentford Women will move away from their current B-team structure ahead of the 2026/27 season. This shift reflects the club's long-term vision: creating a clearer, more effective route into senior football for talented young players. For fans and aspiring footballers alike, this is a game-changing moment for Brentford's women's and girls' game.
