Brentford boss Keith Andrews is adamant his side were denied a clear penalty during Saturday's 3-0 loss to Manchester City—a decision that could have completely reshaped the match.

On paper, the scoreline suggests City cruised to victory, but the reality was far tighter. The game featured several game-changing moments, including a potential DOGSO (denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity) foul in the first half that went unpunished, and a Bernardo Silva arm swing that drew only a yellow card instead of a red.

The most glaring controversy, however, arrived with the score at 1-0 in the second half. Brentford's Kevin Schade sprinted through on goal, only to be clipped by City's Matheus Nunes inside the box. Despite clear contact on Schade's foot, the referee waved play on—a call that left Andrews visibly frustrated.

"I know I'm often the first to say what a difficult job officials have, with all the contentious issues and playacting," Andrews admitted. "But I thought Kevin Schade's incident in the second half was a penalty. That was really disappointing."

The moment proved pivotal. Just four minutes later, Erling Haaland struck to double City's lead, effectively sealing the result. Omar Marmoush added a third in stoppage time to pad the scoreline. Had the penalty been awarded, Nunes would likely have been sent off as well—leaving City with 10 men and facing a potential equalizer. Instead, the decision allowed Pep Guardiola's side to cruise to a win that felt far more comfortable than the match deserved.
