The New York Jets made it clear this offseason: Breece Hall is their guy. General manager Darren Mougey didn't leave anything to chance, slapping the non-exclusive franchise tag on the star running back before he could test free agency. That move quickly turned into a three-year, $45.75 million extension, locking Hall in as the third-highest paid back in the league.

With their bell cow secured for the foreseeable future, Mougey and head coach Aaron Glenn are now turning their attention to rebuilding the rest of the roster. The quarterback situation remains a top priority—Geno Smith is holding things down for now, but finding a franchise signal-caller is the ultimate goal.

Hall, for his part, isn't shy about his confidence. "I'm the only running back that's consistently a top 10 back in the league that hasn't been in the most ideal situation," he said bluntly. "Now, AG and Moug have really put me in position with all the guys we brought in and the team we're building around us to really flourish. This could be my best season, for sure."

The Jets' offense is shaping up to be a playmaker's paradise. With the additions of Kenyon Sadiq and Omar Cooper Jr. in the 2025 draft, plus returning stars like Garrett Wilson and Mason Taylor, Hall won't have to carry the entire load. That kind of supporting cast should take the pressure off, allowing the 24-year-old to focus on what he does best: breaking tackles and hitting holes.

For Hall, it's not just about the contract—it's about finally having the pieces around him to prove he's elite. And if his excitement is any indication, Jets fans might be in for something special this season.
