The Northwestern Wildcats have added another key piece to their roster, landing a commitment from Columbia transfer Ryan Soulis. The 6-foot-10 forward from Athens, Greece, brings a blend of size and experience that should bolster the team's frontcourt depth.
Soulis averaged 5.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 0.9 blocks in 20.0 minutes per game last season for the Lions, starting 17 of his 26 appearances. His defensive presence stood out in the Ivy League, where he posted the fifth-best block percentage and ranked among the top 10 in defensive rebounding rate. Before his stint at Columbia, Soulis spent two seasons at Richmond, giving him three years of college basketball experience. Because Ivy League rules do not allow transfers to retain eligibility within the conference, he was able to remain a sophomore despite his years of play—though he could be listed as a redshirt junior when he suits up for Northwestern in the 2026-27 season.
This commitment marks the seventh transfer addition for head coach Chris Collins this offseason, continuing an aggressive roster overhaul. Soulis adds significant size to a Wildcats team that has prioritized length and international talent. He is the fourth player in this portal class born outside the United States, joining Okku Federiko, Luke McEldon, and Aleksej Kostić.
