The Braves have somehow found their way at the top of a potential trade landing spot. This trade would say goodbye to Sean Murphy, who has struggled to stay healthy recently.

The Atlanta Braves are off to a scorching start this season, becoming the first team to reach 30 wins and establishing themselves as a powerhouse in the league. Their offense has been a nightmare for opposing pitchers, and the bullpen has been nearly untouchable. But even with one of the best rosters in baseball, trade rumors are already swirling around the club.

MLB insider Jim Bowden recently named Atlanta the top destination for superstar Mike Trout at the trade deadline, envisioning an outfield of Trout, Ronald Acuña Jr., and Michael Harris. "It would be a perfect fit," Bowden said. "And it would give Mike Trout a legitimate shot at winning a World Series."

But that's not the only blockbuster rumor making the rounds. Bleacher Report's Zachary D. Rymer has predicted the Braves as the frontrunners to land San Francisco Giants' two-time Silver Slugger Rafael Devers, who is under a massive $313 million contract. According to Rymer, the deal would likely involve sending catcher Sean Murphy and some top prospects to the Giants.

Murphy's name being floated in trade talks makes sense given his recent struggles with injuries. He has barely managed to stay on the field this season, landing on the injured list after playing less than a full week. In a recent game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, Murphy was replaced behind the plate by Drake Baldwin after being called for catcher's interference—a frustrating moment that highlights his ongoing health issues.

Rymer also noted that the Braves have several long-term contracts that aren't working in their favor, making them expendable in a potential Devers deal. "Austin Riley is another, more compelling possibility," he wrote. "The Braves also have some young arms they could ship to San Francisco to complete a deal."

If Atlanta can offload Murphy's contract along with a few promising prospects for a proven slugger like Devers, it would be a bold move that could solidify their lineup for years to come—and keep them atop the NL East for the foreseeable future.
