The RIT Tigers have added some serious offensive firepower to their future lineup, picking up a commitment from Brampton Steelheads forward Kieran Witkowski. The news dropped Monday via the player's Instagram, and it's a big get for the Tigers as they look to build on a solid season.

Witkowski, a Toronto native, just wrapped up his third and most impressive season in the Ontario Hockey League. While he might be listed at a slightly undersized 5-foot-11 and 176 pounds, his game has grown by leaps and bounds. He started his hockey journey with the Toronto Marlboros of the GTHL, where he put up 41 points in just 35 games over two seasons—a stat line that caught the eye of OHL scouts.

That performance earned him a 35th overall selection by the then-Mississauga Steelheads in the 2023 OHL Priority Draft. His rookie season was a classic learning curve, with just seven points in 58 games. But like any good prospect, he used that experience as fuel. In his sophomore year, he more than tripled his production, racking up 30 points in 68 games. This past season, he hit a career-high 34 points (14 goals, 20 assists), showing consistent growth and a knack for finding the back of the net.

“I am excited and honoured to announce my commitment to continue my academics and play NCAA Division 1 hockey at RPI,” Witkowski shared. “Thank you to my family, coaches, teammates and friends who have helped me on this journey.”
