Bournemouth have taken swift action by suspending right-back Alex Jimenez ahead of their Premier League clash with Fulham this Saturday. The club announced they are investigating a series of social media posts allegedly linked to the defender that have been circulating online, leading to his immediate removal from the matchday squad.

In a brief statement, the Cherries acknowledged the seriousness of the situation: "AFC Bournemouth are aware of posts circulating on social media involving right-back, Álex Jiménez. The club understand the seriousness of the matter and it is currently being investigated. As a result, Alex will not be included in the squad for tomorrow’s Premier League game against Fulham and the club will be making no further comment at this time."

Jimenez, who only turned 21 on Friday, originally joined Bournemouth on loan from AC Milan last summer before making the move permanent in February. Despite his young age, the full-back has been a regular feature on the south coast this season, racking up 32 appearances across all competitions. His suspension comes at a crucial time as the Cherries look to solidify their Premier League standing, leaving fans and pundits alike waiting for further details on the investigation.
