England batter Maia Bouchier hits a career-best 143 as Hampshire bounce back from Saturday's One-Day Cup loss at Lancashire by beating Somerset.

England star Maia Bouchier delivered a career-defining performance, smashing a magnificent 143 to lead Hampshire to a thrilling five-wicket victory over Somerset in the One-Day Cup. The 27-year-old's stunning knock was the perfect response to Saturday's defeat against Lancashire, cutting The Blaze's lead at the top of the table to just four points after six games each.

At the Utilita Bowl, Bouchier's brilliance outshone an equally impressive 133 from Somerset's Bex Odgers. Odgers' first professional century, combined with Chloe Skelton's vital 77, formed an unbroken 150-run partnership—the highest seventh-wicket stand in English women's List A cricket and the fourth largest of all time in the format. That partnership set Hampshire a challenging target of 282.

But Bouchier, playing in front of England head coach Charlotte Edwards, found a perfect partner in international teammate Freya Kemp. Together, they crafted a captivating 149-run stand for the third wicket, turning the chase into a masterclass in controlled aggression. Bouchier eventually fell to a stunning catch by Somerset captain Niamh Holland at long on, but Rhianna Southby, Naomi Dattani, and Megan Sturge calmly guided Hampshire home with more than nine overs to spare.

Meanwhile, at Edgbaston, Mady Villiers produced a phenomenal all-round display to steer Durham to a five-wicket victory over Warwickshire. After Warwickshire posted an imposing 289-6—powered by Davina Perrina's 69, Charis Pavely's 55, and Nat Wraith's rapid 54 off 35 balls—Villiers first led the bowling attack with impressive figures of 3-38.

Then came the batting heroics. Villiers, 27, unleashed a glorious maiden century for Durham, smashing 106 from just 86 balls. Her innings laid a spectacular foundation, and Emily Windsor's composed, unbeaten 85 ensured Durham reached 290-5 with 25 deliveries to spare, securing just their second win of the season.

At Chelmsford, Essex moved up to sixth in the table with a comfortable five-wicket triumph over Lancashire, rounding off a day of dominant batting displays across the competition.
